HOTSTART

Since 1942 Hotstart designs and manufactures high quality, reliable preheating systems for marine, railroad, heavy equipment, generator, oil and gas, truck and bus, and clean energy. Below is an overview of the different Hotstart engine heaters.

Thermosiphon heaters

Hotstart’s thermosiphon engine heaters use convection heating to circulate heated coolant through the engine. These preheaters are especially suitable for applications in powergen, heavy equipment, trucks, and busses.

TPS engine heater

Hotstart’s thermosiphon TPS coolant heater provides consistent and reliable heating by circulating heated coolant through the engine block. The TPS preheater is specially suitable for diesel and gas engines in stationary, marine, heavy equipment, and truck applications. The TPS heater can be configured for most weather-protected applications, and is available with numerous options and voltages.

CB engine heater

Hotstart’s CB engine preheater offers a compact, heavy-duty heating solution for diesel and gas engines. The dependable, versatile and safe industrial tank heaters can be installed on a wide range of engines. The CB heaters include a high-limit thermostat an multiple heat power and voltage options. In addition, the preheaters can contain an optional flow-through thermostat.

CL engine heater

The CL engine preheater series offer the same high-limit thermostat and optional flow-through thermostat as the CB engine heaters, but offer higher power options up to 6 kW for increased heat output. This makes them a perfect fit for applications on large heavy-duty engines.

Forced circulation heaters

Hotstart’s forced circulation heaters contain an integrated pump that continuously circulates heated fluids through the engine to keep it at a stable temperature. Hotstart’s forced circulation preheaters can be used for the heating of coolant, and fuel and oil. They are also available in weathertight or hazardous location models.

CTM HOTflow engine heater

By efficient forced circulation the small CTM HOTflow engine preheater can heat engines with a coolant capacity up to 50 liters. This makes them suitable for a large range of small engine applications in e.g. powergen, marine, machinery, trucks, and busses.

CSM HOTflow engine heater

Of all HOTflow preheaters, the CSM HOTflow engine heater includes the most powerful pump and heating element options. This makes them suitable for installation on large engines with a coolant capacity of up to 250 liters. The CSM HOTflow preheater contains an integrated control box, which allows for automatic heater operation.

CMM coolant heating system

The CMM coolant preheater is specially developed for the heating of marine engines, and diesel and gas engines for power plants and mining equipment. The CMM heater was designed with usability, reliability and safety in mind. The compact preheater includes a remote automatic function, customer interface connections, pressure relief valve, and PT-100 sensors for precise temperature monitoring and control.

CLM coolant heating system

The CLM coolant preheater is specially developed for the heating of marine engines, and diesel and gas engines for power plants and mining equipment. The CLM heater was designed with usability, reliability and safety in mind. The compact preheater includes a remote automatic function, customer interface connections, pressure relief valve, and PT-100 sensors for precise temperature monitoring and control.

OMM oil heating system

The OMM oil heating system is developed to heat oil reservoirs of marine engines, and diesel and gas engines for power plants and mining equipment. The OMM preheating system was designed with usability, reliability and safety in mind. The compact heating system includes a remote automatic function, customer interface connections, pressure relief valve, and PT-100 sensors for precise temperature monitoring and control.

OLM oil heating system

The OLM oil heating system is developed to heat oil reservoirs of marine engines, and diesel and gas engines for power plants and mining equipment. The OLM preheating system was designed with usability, reliability and safety in mind. The compact heating system includes a remote automatic function, customer interface connections, pressure relief valve, and PT-100 sensors for precise temperature monitoring and control.

Immersion heaters

Immersion heaters are heating elements that directly transfer all the heat to the fluid they are heating. Hotstart offers immersion heaters for the direct heating of coolant, oil, or fuel. These heaters are available in weathertight and hazardous location models. Hotstart’s in-block heaters are mounted directly into the water jacket of the engine and are available for all the leading engine brands.

Industrial immersion heaters - weathertight

Hotstart’s weathertight industrial immersion heaters can be used for the heating of many fluids for engines and equipment, like lube oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, water, and other crucial fluids. The Hotstart immersion preheaters include a fixed setting thermostat. The weathertight immersion heaters are CSA C/US or CE approved.

OW oil heater

Cold lube oil can become very viscous, which may prevent the oil from protecting engine components. Hotstart’s OW oil heater is threaded into the engine’s oil pan to keep the oil warm and liquid. When the engine is started, warmed oil flows to the critical engine components, which eases engine starts and reduces engine wear.

The OW oil preheaters are available in various voltages and range from 75 to 500 watts. These oil heaters are available for weathertight applications, with or without a thermostat, and can also be used to heat diesel fuel.

Battery heaters

Hotstart offers battery heating solutions in the form of battery thermal wraps and battery heating pads. Both solutions can also be used together as a complete heating solution.

Battery heating pads

Hotstart’s battery heating pads radiate heat. The pads need to be placed in the battery box, underneath the battery.

You can use a thermostat to control the temperature and prevent the battery from overheating. This is especially recommended when the heating pads are used in insulated battery boxes.

Battery thermal wrap

Hotstart offers multiple battery thermal wraps, to perfectly fit your battery size. The wraps are made of durable, fire-retardant vinyl that resists oil and acids. Hotstart also offers battery thermal wraps that are UL recognized. These thermal wraps have a built-in thermostat that prevents damage caused by overheating and ensures worry-free operation.
